ActivMarkets – Empresa de Investimento, S.A. and the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM) have signed a Protocol on Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanisms (“ADR”).
The aim of ADR mechanisms is to resolve disputes in a more accessible, quicker, simpler, and generally less costly manner compared to judicial proceedings. These mechanisms allow non-professional investors involved in disputes related to financial intermediation activities (as defined in Article 289 of the Portuguese Securities Code), with a value not exceeding €15,000 (fifteen thousand euros), to refer the matter to one of the consumer arbitration centers that are party to the Protocol, when their complaint has not been resolved by ActivMarkets – Empresa de Investimento, S.A. or by the CMVM itself.
The following Consumer Arbitration Centres, which are members of the Consumer Arbitration Network and signatories to the Protocol, may be used:
-
Centro de Arbitragem de Conflitos de Consumo da Região de Coimbra ("CACRC")
